Normandie – WWII monuments

After spending a few hours in Bayeux we climbed back into the bus and headed down to the coast to visit Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery, and Pointe du Hoc. The weather had cleared up, so it was absolutely stunning when we arrived. Brisk and very windy, but lovely. The fresh ocean air was definitely a perk. I forgot how amazing good clean air is – Paris can get quite stinky. That lovely ocean breeze was like a drug to all of us, and we left feeling considerably energized. Continue reading
